From personal experience, it can be a bit too much to entirely change your diet, so changing things little by little can work better. You can start by getting rid of junk and fast food in favor of something more nutritious. Below are a few suggestions for improving your diet:</p>
<p>It\&#8217;s important to eat a balanced diet, as too much of one thing is not healthy. As with nearly all lifestyle choices, food included, the key is moderation. Make sure you consume plenty of carbohydrates as they\&#8217;ll give you energy, eat a good amount of protein as protein will help build and repair cells and eat some fats as fat is essential in your diet (just not too much and try to avoid the bad fats!) Fiber is also crucial to see to it that your digestive system remains in good working order.</p>
<p>Keep your food portions average. These days many of us binge because we are greedy, at least when it comes to food. We may be very ravenous so we ingest a large plate of food and then feel absolutely stuffed afterward. When you ingest too much food, of course, your belly expands. Your bigger tummy will need extra food before sending it\&#8217;s \&#8221;I\&#8217;m full\&#8221; message, so you\&#8217;ll eat even more, and so on. You don\&#8217;t have to slash your portions down to nothing, just approach it gradually; take just a little less food each time until your stomach gets used to it, and repeat.</p>
<p>Definitely try to include more fruits and veggies, because they are an important part of any diet. Your body requires their minerals and vitamins. Aim for five pieces of fruit or veggie every day. Eat an orange. Cut up an apple. Peel a banana. Cook up some broccoli or green beans. It\&#8217;s up to you. What could be more painless than that?</p>
<p>As your belly doesn\&#8217;t even begin letting the brain know it\&#8217;s getting full for at least twenty minutes, it\&#8217;s very critical to slow down the rate at which you shovel food in. This is why many of us eat too much. We gulp down a big meal in ten to twelve minutes or so, but we still feel hungry, so what do we do? Eat more, of course. In another ten minutes we\&#8217;re on our butts, heavy. Always sit back, appreciate your surroundings and savor your meal at a nice, leisurely pace.</p>
<p>Sugar adds a nice sweet taste to most things you put it in, so it\&#8217;s no wonder we all love it so much. You can\&#8217;t actually get rid of sugar from your diet but you can at least try to throttle your sugar intake. When it it concerns desert or a snack, go for some fresh fruit or anything you like with less sugar. Drink diet sodas as an alternative to full sugar sodas.</p>
<p>Simply by doing little things to your diet you can make a difference to your overall health and also how much you weigh. These suggestions are easy to implement, so there\&#8217;s no excuse to not do them!</p>

<p>You should not think of getting to a better body with a \&#8221;diet\&#8221; which is just a short term plan for a few weeks or a few months because after it is over, the weight will come right back on. The best way is to make a lifestyle change and enjoy what you love to eat but in healthier fashions.</p>
<p>The human body is composed of over 95% water so drinking enough water daily is the most important thing. Staying hydrated helps lose weight and burn additional calories. The minimum to drink a day is a gallon.</p>
<p>Another good tip is to always eat a large breakfast. Big breakfasts will jumpstart the metabolism and helps burn additional calories over time. A good breakfast consists of eggs, oatmeal, and milk or orange juice.</p>
<p>Most people have 3 large meals a day, but it is best to stick with smaller, more frequent meals. Having a meal every 2-3 hours ends up with 5-6 total meals which is great to increase metabolism and burn more calories to lose weight.</p>

<p>You may have seen a whole new slew of advertisements online and on television trying to revamp the poor image of high fructose corn syrup (HFCS). They are basically trying to promote this junk food additive as \&#8221;healthy\&#8221;.</p>
<p>The advertising campaigns don\&#8217;t come right out and make the claim that high fructose corn syrup is \&#8221;health food\&#8221;, but they do try to get clever and fool people into thinking that it\&#8217;s not bad for your health. In fact, they make these misleading claims:</p>
<p>\&#8221;It\&#8217;s all natural\&#8221;</p>
<p>\&#8221;It\&#8217;s no worse for you than table sugar\&#8221;</p>
<p>\&#8221;It\&#8217;s made from corn\&#8221;</p>
<p>\&#8221;It has the same calories as table sugar\&#8221;</p>
<p>As you can see, these ads are trying to deceive us into thinking that HFCS isn\&#8217;t so bad after all&#8230; I mean, they do say that it\&#8217;s \&#8221;all natural\&#8221; and \&#8221;made from corn\&#8221;. These ads are pure sleaze!</p>
<p>In my opinion, these ads are highly immoral. For one, as if our nation, and the world for that matter, wasn\&#8217;t already suffering an obesity epidemic, as well as skyrocketing degenerative diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Now, they\&#8217;re trying to make matters worse by fooling innocent people into thinking that high fructose corn syrup is somehow healthy. Meanwhile, as society and our kids get fatter and more unhealthy, they\&#8217;re lining their pockets with massive profits since HFCS is in the majority of processed food.</p>
<p>As for their claim that HFCS is \&#8221;no worse for you than sugar\&#8221;&#8230; I\&#8217;m not even going to discusss any of the science about how HFCS affects the leptin and insulin process in your body, your blood sugar process, appetite levels, etc. Instead, I want to make a more important point:</p>
<p>Who cares if HFCS is \&#8221;no worse for you than sugar\&#8221;&#8230; because sugar is one of the worst things you can ingest in your body anyway, so it is not even a valid argument!</p>
<p>The point you need to understand is that if you want to be lean and healthy for life, you should be minimizing, or even eliminating all sugar and high fructose corn syrup. In fact, most processed food should be eliminated altogether if you want to be serious about getting lean.</p>
<p>As for their claim that HFCS is \&#8221;all-natural\&#8221;&#8230; don\&#8217;t even get me started! It\&#8217;s just a ridiculous statement to begin with. I don\&#8217;t care if you call it \&#8221;natural\&#8221; or artificial, the bottom line is that it\&#8217;s a highly processed, refined substance that makes you fat!</p>
<p>So the next time you\&#8217;re thinking about drinking that can of soda, or eating that candy bar or cupcakes, just think about how that is only going directly against your efforts to lose body fat and can even lead to other health problems in excess.</p>
