Dr. Nafthali Primor, of Shulov Institute for Sciences, Ltd. was the first to propose the venom of snakes as a potent natural method to relieve arthritis pain.
Dr. Nafthali Primor and his research team have discovered some powerful substances in the venom of diverse species of cobras, vipers, and rattle snakes. These can be effective as analgesics for debilitating pain due to several diseases, including cancer and particularly arthritis which usually sets off debilitating pain.
Snake Venom Use
Though Primor’s study was the first official recognition of the healing properties of snake venom, the idea has been popular for years. Long before Dr. Primor published his study, there were already reports of successful arthritis treatment through snake bites.
The first reported case was that of a 66 year old Englishman who suffered from chronic arthritis. Accidentally getting bitten by a snake, he announced on the BBC channel in 2002 that the joint pain on his finger was gone at least three to four weeks after the bite. Unfortunately, the pain returned soon after, first only mildly for 2 months, but then resuming fully in the succeeding months. Soon enough, the snake bite phenomenon piqued the interest of different people back then.
Snake Venom and Dr. Primor
At a young age, Primor already showed a certain attraction to snakes. He easily became involved with the study of the curative properties of snake venom. This is probably why he was fated to ultimately discover snake venom arthritis treatment methods.
Two decades ago, a Russian colleague by the name of Dr. Shulov told Dr. Primor that Russians have long used snake venom creams to manage aches and pains. This knowledge inspired Dr. Nafthali Primor to pursue the concept and do further research.
Arthritis Treatment with Snake Venom
The first analgesic invented was the VeP-3, which was drawn from the venom of Palestinian Vipers. Nafthali Primor documented that of the thousand or so molecules found in snake venom, barely four to five molecules are actually poisonous. This indicates that approximately 99 percent of the venom is non-poisonous and consequently can be used for various curative opportunities.
Dr. Nafthali Primor now intends to develop a snake venom pain relief salve for the specific purpose of alleviating arthritic pain. He mentions as a key example a “super aspirin” product by Merck & Company called “Aggrastat”, which effectively prevents blood clots and heart attacks. This medication is also derived from snake venom.
Thus far, snake venom arthritis methods still offer several possibilities. Researchers continue to devise methods through which snake venom can be safely and effectively used for various medicinal purposes. Scientific studies also aim to perfect a powerful cream that will completely eliminate arthritis. For the moment, while we wait for more discoveries in snake venom use, don’t risk your own body by trying to get snake bites on your own.
