On a hot summer day, I’m sure you would rather do those exercises build muscle in a pool, than in a gym.

You won’t get muscle fast; however, the results of swimming will give you better flexibility, a small workout, and stronger joints.

Everyday, especially in weight lifting and cardio, your joints in your body are being used. Swimming gives your body the opportunity to build the joints in your body, instead of always building your muscles. This will allow you to lift more, give you more room to build muscle, and prevent injuries.

Although this should not be your main workout, swimming will give you a full body workout without giving you stress on your body. If you use this as your only workout, the cool water will make your fat distribute differently, sending more fat to your skin, losing your muscle tone. Adding this to your regular workout schedule, about once a week, and you’ll feel the results without hurting your tone.

Usually, you cannot directly work on your flexibility unless you are stretching or maybe a little in your workouts. While you are in a pool, your flexibility will be put to the test and it will also grow. Having good flexibility will help you to complete harder and heavier lifts and exercises.

Swimming also gives you a chance to get your heart pumping and your lungs racing in a low stress environment. This is beneficial to your health as it expands your lungs and pumps new oxygen into your blood. When you get out of the pool, you will definitely breathe and feel better.

Pool exercises build muscle; however, you will see better improvements in your flexibility, joint strength, and your health.
